The announcement arrives during a lively month for Overwatch 2. Earlier, Blizzard revealed a collaboration with Nerf that includes six new weapon skins inspired by the popular toy brand. Notably, a special game mode titled Nerf or Nothin’ has been introduced, running until August 18, where Support heroes like Mercy are excluded from participation, and cooldowns are reduced by 80%, creating a fast-paced gameplay environment.
Wuyang’s Hero Trial Details
Wuyang stands as the 44th Hero in Overwatch 2, categorized as a Support character originating from China. He is a student at the Water College at Wuxing University. His introduction was initially hinted at under the code name ‘Aqua’ during Blizzard’s spotlight video in February 2025. The lead-up to Wuyang’s Hero trial will also feature a new comic, gameplay trailer, and developer livestream events.
In terms of abilities, Wuyang utilizes water-based powers to both heal teammates and disrupt enemies. Reports suggest that one of his skills may involve summoning a Guardian Wave, enhancing ally healing, while his Ultimate can create a Tidal Blast, providing a shield that protects and heals allies while knocking back foes.
As anticipation builds for Wuyang’s arrival, players have much to look forward to in the coming weeks as Season 18 promises exciting new content for the Overwatch 2 community.
