Stay calm, everyone. While some may show outward calmness, it feels as though I’m losing my grip on reality. Yet, there might finally be a tentative release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong. This information, not directly from Team Cherry, represents the most convincing evidence we’ve had so far.
Recently, footage of Silksong surfaced following the trailer for the ROG Xbox Ally, which was released in June. At that time, Xbox president Sarah Bond mentioned that Silksong would be “available at launch and part of Game Pass when the Ally launches later this year.”
This potential release aligns with a reliable leak indicating that the Ally could launch on October 16. While leaks shouldn’t be mistaken for guarantees, the informant billbil_kun has a strong reputation for accuracy.
Moreover, Silksong is rumored to be featured at Gamescom this August, and Matthew Griffin, the head of marketing and publishing, confirmed it would arrive before Christmas. The stars seem to be aligning, although past promises of a release didn’t pan out as expected in 2022, when Xbox announced it would debut within the next twelve months, which didn’t happen.
Despite the skepticism from some colleagues, this time feels different. Team Cherry confirmed a demo, and the reliable leak suggests a solid timeframe. Perhaps the sacrifices we’ve made as fans weren’t in vain.
