Since the beginning of time, mankind has faced its relentless adversary: the helicopter. In light of the recent trailer bustling with explosive actions, half the global population is diving headfirst into the Battlefield 6 open beta, propelling it into the ranks of Steam’s top-100 most-played games ever.
As I write this, Battlefield 6 has already surpassed the 300,000 player milestone, with 308,310 concurrent users, marking its peak (only hours after its launch). This impressive turnout places it as the 44th most-played game on Steam to date, ranking just below the likes of Elden Ring at 43rd and Skyrim at 45th.
While it’s worth noting that EA has only recently begun to distribute Battlefield titles through Steam, the numbers are undeniable. This surpasses the previous record holder, Battlefield 2042, which only reached a peak of 156,665 players during its open beta.
Such a staggering turnout suggests a bright horizon for Battlefield 6, which stands poised to eclipse past games like Nightreign and a few others in popularity. The early feedback and engagement from players indicate that this may indeed be a successful installment for the franchise and a welcome addition amid the ongoing competition in the gaming landscape.
