Oxide Games and Stardock are reviving their colossal strategy game, Ashes of the Singularity, with the anticipated release of Ashes of the Singularity 2 in 2026. This sequel aims to enhance the gameplay experience by introducing a human faction alongside familiar AI and mech-based units.
The game is set in 2031, where players can expect a completely immersive environment filled with units totaling in the hundreds of thousands. CEO Brad Wardell noted:
“Of course, in the first game, the predominant user request was for a human faction. At that point, we couldn’t accommodate thousands of organic characters due to limitations, so we had to focus on machines. Now, we are excited to integrate humans into the war and see how they perform against the machine armies of the Substrate and PHC.”
Expect a higher unit count on screen, alongside features such as dynamic environments affected by gameplay, vast continents for battle, and commanders to assist in managing your enormous forces. The Steam page for Ashes of the Singularity 2 is live now, with a community of fans eagerly awaiting updates on this massive-scale RTS.
