Significant Changes Coming to Combat Cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Activision is implementing crucial security measures in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to counter cheating on PC platforms.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is making significant steps to enhance security against cheaters by requiring players to enable essential settings on PC gaming systems. Activision’s upcoming title, still without a specific release date, aims to launch in late 2025.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 - Combat Cheaters

On August 19, Activision will unveil more information during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. It’s anticipated that the official release date might also be addressed, considering that new releases typically occur in late October or early November.

New Security Features to Combat Cheating

Activision revealed new PC-exclusive security measures for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, including Trusted Platform Mode 2.0 (TPM 2.0) and Secure Boot. TPM 2.0 delivers hardware-software security, while Secure Boot prevents unauthorized programs from launching during system startup, addressing concerns over “low-level cheats.”

Black Ops 7 will be unprecedented as the first installment mandating these features at launch. Activision is also planning to retroactively apply these security upgrades to past games like Warzone and Black Ops 6.

Both TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot will integrate with the game’s RICOCHET Anti-Cheat, ensuring fair play. Notably, if a player’s PC cannot support these features, Activision promises that their gaming experience will remain unaffected, and notifications regarding system compatibility will appear during gameplay.

Moreover, excitement thrives as fans have spotted Black Ops 7 themed Monster Energy drinks in stores, which offer future in-game rewards when scanned, though details about these rewards are yet to be disclosed.
