The latest installment in the NHL video game series from EA Sports has been officially announced, revealing its release date and features.

Electronic Arts has officially disclosed that EA Sports NHL 26 will hit the shelves on September 12, 2025. This upcoming title, rooted in the NHL franchise, is one of the most anticipated releases among ice hockey enthusiasts this year.

The NHL series made its debut in 1991 with NHL Hockey and has undergone substantial enhancements over the years. Each new game iteration typically brings notable improvements and roster updates to mirror the actual NHL environment.

EA has confirmed that NHL 26 will be available for both Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Fans eager for early gameplay can opt for the Deluxe edition, granting access beginning September 5. Both editions can be pre-ordered from Sony or Microsoft stores. Furthermore, EA unveiled the game’s cover featuring Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, alongside their father, Keith Tkachuk, on the Deluxe edition’s cover, while the Standard edition will spotlight Matthew Tkachuk with the Stanley Cup.

Fans can anticipate new features in the NHL franchise, including the adoption of ICE-Q 2.0 technology, which utilizes real-world data to reflect player movements akin to their real-life counterparts. NHL 26 will also introduce an enhanced Be A Pro mode, immersing gamers into the complete journey of a hockey player.
