Valve Announces August Ranking Update

Valve's latest ranking update significantly alters the standings ahead of IEM Chengdu invites.

Invitations for IEM Chengdu will be issued based on the latest Valve ranking update released on Monday.

Valve Ranking Update

With this update, certain teams have moved significantly in the rankings following their performances at IEM Cologne.

Spirit climbed from 3rd to 2nd, Natus Vincere improved from 8th to 5th, while FURIA moved up from 9th to 6th. Meanwhile, TYLOO’s victory at FISSURE led them to leap from 20th to 10th.

Conversely, Liquid’s poor results at Cologne and their decision to not participate in FISSURE Playground saw them drop nine spots to 26th place.

Other teams that suffered declines include Aurora, which fell five spots to 11th, and HEROIC, which dropped six to 18th.

The August rankings will dictate the invitations for both IEM Chengdu and the Thunderpick World Championship. The distribution will occur as follows:

IEM Chengdu

  • 10 spots from Global VRS
  • 2 from Europe VRS
  • 2 from Americas VRS
  • 2 from Asia VRS

Thunderpick World Championship

  • 4 spots from Global VRS

Here are the top teams and points in the global standings up to the 30th spot as per the latest updates.
