During server maintenance on August 4, Final Fantasy 14 unveiled extensive Job changes coming in Patch 7.3, titled The Promise of Tomorrow. Key updates include modifications to the Reaper’s Enshroud ability, enhancing its usability during critical phases, while adjustments to the Viper and Pictomancer have been made, with the latter seeing a minor nerf.
The update will go live on August 5 after maintenance ends at 6:00 AM Eastern. Described as the high point of the Dawntrail main story, Patch 7.3 will follow with two supplementary updates in the fall. Patch 7.31 will address Cosmic Exploration and Phantom Relic Weapons, while Patch 7.35 will introduce the Pilgrim’s Traverse Deep Dungeon and more Hildibrand adventures.
Recently, further job balance changes have been highlighted, including improvements to all Healers’ area-of-effect spells, boosting the efficacy of the White Mage’s Medica and the Sage’s Eukrasian Prognosis. The Bard and Machinist also received slight enhancements, optimizing their rotational efficiency. A significant alteration to the Reaper’s Enshroud cooldown allows for two executions during burst phases, while the Ninja gained potency buffs. Other classes, such as Samurai, Dragoon, and Monk, also saw minimal increases in damage output.
However, the Viper and Pictomancer experienced slight debuffs in their primary abilities. Meanwhile, to maintain balance, both the Summoner and Red Mage have seen boosts to their core spells. This latest round of adjustments aims to enhance the playability of several Jobs. Each adjustment serves to ensure that classes maintain their competitive edge while responding to player feedback.
