Complete Everything in Donkey Kong Bananza and Feel Let Down

A player expresses disappointment after achieving 100% completion in the game Donkey Kong Bananza, revealing unsatisfying rewards.

Donkey Kong Bananza’s reward for achieving 100% completion turned out to be quite disappointing. The game is the latest in Nintendo’s series, filled with collectibles that players must find. With 777 bananas, 696 fossils, and 110 music discs scattered throughout, completing the game requires significant effort. Despite the fun of the journey, most players are dissatisfied with the final reward.

Completing the main story offers a resolution to the central conflict, yet it leaves the characters Donkey Kong and Pauline apart. As players tackle the post-game challenges, they can reunite these characters, starting a new adventure that requires collecting at least 600 bananas. However, many players may still feel there’s more to uncover, making the game enjoyable but the eventual reward underwhelming.

100% Completion Reward

Achieving 100% in Donkey Kong Bananza grants a slightly altered ending along with new designs for the balloons, which assist Donkey Kong when he falls, reminiscent of their appearances in earlier Donkey Kong games. While there might be more hidden rewards yet to uncover, what is currently known feels inadequate. The investment required for full completion – about 50 hours of gameplay – contrasts sharply with the minimal reward.

Similar sentiments exist among Nintendo’s other titles, like Breath of the Wild, where collecting all Korok Seeds leads to disappointing rewards. Many players hope that future games will offer more exciting incentives for players willing to fully engage with their content.

Despite the disappointment in completing all tasks, Donkey Kong Bananza remains one of the standout releases this year, providing hours of enjoyable gameplay. If the thrill of hunting for items fades, however, players should consider whether continuing to pursue completion is worthwhile.
