Pokémon GO has revealed a new Legendary Shadow Raid event featuring Shadow Giratina and Shadow Kyogre scheduled for August 2025. This announcement comes as the game’s Delightful Days season approaches its end.
Earlier in July, Pokémon GO introduced an Ultra Unlock event featuring Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia Raids set for early August. Both are among the strongest Pokémon in the game, creating excitement in the community. Now, another challenging duo from Hoenn and Sinnoh will be available for a week-long challenge.
The Delightful Days: Taken Over event will run from August 11, 2025, at 12:00 AM until August 17, 2025, at 11:59 PM. During this time, Team GO Rocket will be more prevalent at PokeStops and balloons, with the exciting debut of shiny Salandit in-game.
Special Research tasks will offer a Super Rocket Radar after players defeat Giovanni, allowing them a chance to rescue Shadow Giratina. The unique Shadow Kyogre will appear in five-star Shadow Raids from August 16, 6:00 AM until August 17, 10:00 PM, and players can earn an extra Raid Pass each day.
Through this new event, Pokémon GO aims to wrap up its Delightful Days season on an exciting note before the GO Fest: Max Finale on August 23 and 24.
