AMD's Plans Hint at New High-End GPUs, but Fans May Wait Until 2027

AMD is reportedly working on two new graphics cards, one targeting ultra high-end models and another promising RTX 5080 performance at an enticing price.

AMD is making headlines as it is rumored to be preparing two new graphics cards: one targeting the high-end market and another promising performance akin to the Nvidia RTX 5080 for a significantly lower price of $550.

The first GPU, codenamed AT0, is expected to serve as a workstation AI graphics card, potentially competing against Nvidia’s high-end offerings such as the upcoming RTX 6090. In a notable move, this GPU is rumored to encompass 154 compute units paired with a 384-bit memory bus and an impressive 36 GB of GDDR7 memory. This speaks volumes about AMD’s ambitions in delivering a competitive product within the GPU market.

As for the second GPU, codenamed AT2, it is said to feature 64 compute units, appealing to gamers seeking efficiency in ray tracing and solid performance without breaking the bank. This model seeks to bring RTX 5080-like performance for half the expected price, making it an attractive option for mainstream gamers.

That said, discerning consumers must brace for a wait until early 2027 for a potential release, leaving room for speculation about the potential rapid advancements in technology by then. If AMD adheres to its projected timeline, fans might have much to look forward to in the evolving GPU landscape.
