Bloober Team's Popular Horror Game 'The Medium' Set for Movie Adaptation

The film adaptation of Bloober Team's psychological horror game 'The Medium' has been confirmed with screenwriter Gary Dauberman at the helm.

Bloober Team has recently announced that its acclaimed psychological horror title, The Medium, is being adapted into a feature film.

Screenwriter and director Gary Dauberman has expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “With its compelling story and incredibly cinematic visuals, The Medium is a natural for a feature film adaptation.”

Dauberman, known for his work on It and its sequel, is embarking on this venture with his production company, Coin Operated. He was particularly inspired by his discussions with Bloober’s CEO, Piotr Babieno, about their mutual passion for horror and the future of the genre.

Babieno remarked on the collaboration, noting, “Adapting games into films often involves balancing many interests, but with The Medium, I have a deep sense that Gary is the perfect partner for us.”

Originally released in 2021, The Medium garnered mixed reviews but has maintained a strong following and positive user ratings on platforms like Steam. The game was particularly praised for its storytelling and atmosphere, establishing Bloober Team as a credible force in the gaming industry.

This adaptation continues the trend of video games making the leap to the big screen, further intertwining the worlds of gaming and cinema.
