Despite Controversy, Ready or Not Achieves Remarkable Success on Consoles

Void Interactive's tactical FPS, Ready or Not, has achieved over 2 million sales on consoles, overcoming challenges stemming from self-censorship.

Ready or Not, created by Void Interactive, is enjoying immense popularity, with over 2 million copies sold on consoles within months of its release. The game, released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 15, also faced significant backlash due to self-imposed censorship during its transition from PC to console.

Initially launching in early access in December 2021, it gained traction quickly, becoming the best-seller on Steam shortly after its launch. It maintains a robust player base, with peak daily players ranging from 32,000 to 42,000. In April, the announcement for its console release garnered excitement, yet some of the game’s graphic content was modified due to concerns from console partners.

In a recent update on LinkedIn, CEO Julio Rodriguez shared words of gratitude towards players, stating that Ready or Not exemplifies the pinnacle of tactical FPS games in this era. Despite facing review bombing and a decrease in ratings on platforms like Steam, overall sales numbers remain healthy, emphasizing the game’s continued success in the console market.
