The anticipated duo mode for Elden Ring Nightreign has been postponed following a massive earthquake that triggered tsunami warnings in Japan.

Content Delayed Due to Tsunami Risk

Overview

The release of the long-awaited Elden Ring Nightreign patch, which introduced a duo mode, has been delayed due to safety concerns following an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Japan. This natural disaster has prompted extensive evacuation orders across the eastern coastline as tsunami warnings are in effect.

According to FromSoftware, the developers stated:

“Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the ‘Elden Ring Nightreign’ Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today to tomorrow at 10:00 CEST | 1:00 PDT.”

The update will include not only the exciting new duo mode but other balance adjustments as well. Additionally, the second wave of the Everdark Sovereign event, which was set to commence shortly after the patch, will now also be postponed.

Impact of the Earthquake

This earthquake, one of the most significant recorded, has affected nearly 900,000 residents in 133 municipalities across Japan’s east coast. Warnings indicate that tsunami waves may reach heights of up to 3 meters. The situation remains precarious as the community prioritizes safety during these challenging times.

Conclusion

With these developments, the gaming community can only wait patiently for the updates concerning Elden Ring Nightreign as priorities for the affected regions take precedence.
