Microsoft Asserts That Windows 11 24H2 is the Most Stable Version Yet
The tech giant claims that Windows 11 24H2 experiences significantly fewer crashes compared to its predecessor.
Microsoft boasts that its latest release of Windows, version 24H2, is far more stable than previous iterations. The company indicates a 24% reduction in unexpected restarts compared to Windows 10 22H2, based on telemetry data collected in July 2025. The blog states, “We’re also proud to share that Windows 11 24H2 is our most reliable version of Windows yet. These improvements reflect deep collaboration across engineering, design, and user research teams and a commitment to making Windows more resilient for everyone.”
Despite these claims, numerous users reported issues following the October rollout of version 24H2. Problems ranged from crashing games due to compatibility issues with Auto HDR to an undeletable cache of 8.63 GB for some users. Notably, Ubisoft game compatibility was also a significant problem, leading Microsoft to block updates for PCs with those games installed.
On a positive note, Microsoft has not reported any major issues with 24H2 in recent months. As the tech giant plans to implement changes to the infamous blue screen of death, users remain hopeful that 24H2 will prove to be genuinely reliable over time.
