Live Beta for Total War: Warhammer 3's Siege Rework Now Available

The new beta for Total War: Warhammer 3's siege rework is now live, allowing players to provide feedback on significant improvements.

Total War: Warhammer 3’s Siege Rework beta has officially started, inviting players to test various significant modifications to the siege mechanics.

Creative Assembly announced the beta’s availability for download on Steam, highlighting this as a unique opportunity for players to engage with the modifications and share their insights to refine siege warfare.

“This is your chance to get hands-on with the changes, share your feedback with us and help shape the future of siege warfare.”

The overhaul updates several critical aspects including the elimination of ‘pocket ladders’ that allowed infantry to scale walls without the needed equipment. This feature is being discontinued to enhance the realism of the siege scenarios, although the developers admit removing such utility might seem humorous in a game featuring fantastical elements like plague demons.

Other enhancements include:

  • More effective siege equipment allowing the construction of additional towers and battering rams.
  • Improved defensive mechanisms increasing the lethality of wall towers while reducing their firing range.
  • Updates to battle AI remedying over 50 issues related to siege tactics.
  • Tweaks to existing siege maps for a better gameplay experience.

This beta reflects Creative Assembly’s ongoing commitment to evolving Total War: Warhammer 3, with plans already underway to rework the game’s Kislev faction and magic item system. Notably, the release of the anticipated Tides of Torment DLC has been postponed until later this year due to these extensive changes.

The siege beta will be accessible for two weeks, concluding on August 7. Players eager to partake can activate the beta through the game properties menu on Steam.
