Destiny 2 Unveils Arms Week with a New Weapon Reveal

Bungie announces details for the upcoming Arms Week in Destiny 2, introducing a unique weapon and exciting mods.

Bungie provides insights into the upcoming Arms Week event in Destiny 2, which will feature a new powerful weapon and special mods for players to unlock. The latest expansion set Year of Prophecy is off to a thrilling start, and there’s more excitement lined up.

The Edge of Fate expansion was just the kickoff, with more content to come as per Bungie’s roadmap. Players have already engaged with the Desert Perpetual raid, noted for its innovative mechanics despite some technical hiccups.

Arms Week is set to commence on July 29, and it will spotlight specific weapon archetypes, starting with Hand Cannons. Players can engage with characters like Ada-1, gather telemetry through gameplay, and unlock exclusive rewards, while participating in unique challenges available from the Event Home menu.

New Weapon and Mods Unveiled

Bungie has introduced a standout weapon for this event - the Phoneutria Fera Hand Cannon, which marks the introduction of the first-ever spreadshot hand cannon in Destiny 2. Players will also have access to legacy hand cannons and a new Strand Adaptive Trace Rifle named Ribbontail.

Additionally, Arms Week will see the premiere of Volatile Mods, which can be equipped on Hand Cannons during the event and provide advantageous bonuses:

  • Chaotic Munitions: Produces randomized effects with precision kills.
  • Cowboy Grip: Enhances hip-fire performance significantly.
  • Fragmentation Rounds: Creates multiple explosive submunitions with precision kills.

Bungie is treating Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate as a long-term engagement rather than a sprint, ensuring the experience continually evolves with community feedback and insights.
