Obsidian Ensures Grounded 1 Save Files Will Remain Accessible After Grounded 2 Launch
Obsidian's executive producer reassures players that their save files from Grounded 1 will not be discarded once Grounded 2 is released, aimed at preserving gaming history.
Grounded 2 is set to launch, with early access arriving soon. Players have expressed concern over the fate of their save files from the original Grounded game. Marcus Morgan, the executive producer at Obsidian, reassured fans, stating, “We actually have this strong passion to ensure our games can stand the test of time and keep updating through history.” He added that while there won’t be new story content for Grounded 1, it will continue to exist if players still wish to engage with it. Morgan emphasized that they’re dedicated to maintaining the original game, saying, “There’s a maintenance and a desire that that game will always exist. So we’ll keep that up; it’s not going anywhere if people still want to play Grounded 1 as well.” This statement is significant amid growing discussions in the gaming community surrounding game preservation and the Stop Killing Games movement, which aims to safeguard the legacy and accessibility of video games.
