Sony Takes Steps to Simplify DualSense Controller Switching on PC
Sony is introducing an update for the PS5 that allows the DualSense controller to easily switch between multiple devices, addressing a longstanding inconvenience for PC gamers.
After years of using an Xbox controller, I’ve often envied those who managed to pair their gaming devices seamlessly. If you own a DualSense controller and have ever been annoyed by the need to re-sync to your PC, beneficial changes are on the way from Sony. The upcoming PS5 system update will allow users to pair the DualSense with multiple devices, making the device switching process much more straightforward.
To link the controller to a certain device, simply hold the PS button and one of the face buttons (like triangle or circle). You will be able to save this setup for up to four devices. When it’s time to switch devices, just press the PS button and the corresponding button for a couple of seconds, and you can do this without having to power on the controller first.
This update marks a significant milestone for Sony, situating the DualSense controller alongside similar devices that already offer multi-device pairing capabilities. The ease of switching might even sway those who still prefer the Xbox controller.
