The developer Sloclap has released a substantial update for Rematch, now version 1.200.100, that aims to enhance the gameplay experience significantly across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Since its debut on June 19, Rematch has captivated players with its innovative approach to arcade-style soccer. Launched on Xbox Game Pass from day one, the game rapidly attracted over a million users within its first hours and now boasts a player count exceeding five million. However, players have noted some missing features. With this update, Sloclap addresses many of these concerns.
This major update introduces gamepad remapping, allowing users to customize their control schemes—although initial functionality is somewhat basic, more robust options are promised in later updates. Furthermore, gameplay has seen improvements in ball control, player interactions, and goalkeeper response to ball speed and collisions.
Additionally, the update enhances animations, tackles camera stability during goal replays, and incorporates a Colorblind Mode to cater to players with color vision deficiencies. Future updates are set to further broaden accessibility options.
Despite the absence of the highly anticipated crossplay feature in this update, the adjustments made reflect Sloclap’s commitment to its player base and aim to sustain the game’s positive growth trajectory. Expect continued support and fixes over the coming weeks.
