Overwatch 2 Hero Trial Schedule
Overwatch 2 has announced that players can participate in the Wuyang hero trial, which is set to take place from August 14 to August 18. This event will give players the opportunity to experience the new support hero before his official launch on August 26.
During the Overwatch 2 Spotlight Event, Blizzard unveiled two upcoming heroes for 2025: Freja, a bounty hunter DPS, and Wuyang, a support hero with fluid abilities themed around water. Freja debuted earlier in Season 16 on April 22.
Fans will have a chance to trial Wuyang’s abilities in casual modes like Quick Play, offering insights into his gameplay mechanics and how he functions within the team dynamics. Expect further details about his skills to emerge by August 11, ahead of the trial.
Wuyang’s Gameplay Details
While specifics on Wuyang’s abilities are still under wraps, initial descriptions indicate that his gameplay is centered on ‘rhythm, disruption, and fluid control,’ featuring a unique healing method and hybrid damage capabilities. Comparisons have been drawn to Mei from Overwatch due to thematic similarities.
Moreover, Wuyang is portrayed as a character with a significant learning curve, suggesting that mastering him will require time and practice.
As he is set to be the last hero introduced in 2025, players are curious about the next additions post-Wuyang. Speculations indicate that Blizzard may be hinting at a melee-focused female character expected for the following season.
