Sad Farewell for PS Plus Members on August 19

PlayStation Plus subscribers are set to lose several top-tier games on August 19, 2025, marking a disappointing turn for the service. Here’s what to expect.

August 19 will be a poignant day for PlayStation Plus users, as on this date, they must bid farewell to several beloved titles within the service. While the Essential tier of PS Plus allows gamers to keep added games indefinitely as long as they remain subscribed, the Extra and Premium tiers are subject to monthly changes.

PS Plus Extra and Premium boast an extensive library that is refreshed every month, offering newcomers while retiring others. However, this year has not been kind to PS Plus Extra, experiencing a wave of significant departures. Therefore, the following games are scheduled for removal on August 19.

At least 14 titles, including Bugsnax, EA Sports UFC 5, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, RIDE 5, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, are expected to be delisted. With subscribers already feeling a sense of loss, it’s prudent to assume all games listed in the Leaving Soon section will indeed vanish after this date.

PS Plus Games Leaving Soon (August 2025)

  • Bugsnax
  • EA Sports UFC 5
  • Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
  • RIDE 5
  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
  • Sword Art Online series (multiple titles)
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Top Spin 2K25
  • Vacation Simulator

The removal of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a major success and title of critical acclaim, is especially disheartening given its recent addition to the list of departures. As subscribers strategize around these exits, they can only hope that upcoming titles will justify the loss of these fan favorites.
