Legends take time to develop.
In a recent announcement, Amplitude Studios revealed that the launch date for Endless Legend 2 has been postponed. Instead of its previously scheduled release on August 7, the game will now debut on September 22.
The delay allows the developers extra time to refine various aspects of the game, including player onboarding, localization, and overall polish. Improvements on balance, map generation, and additional quality-of-life updates will also be made during this period.
“The feedback we’ve received through the Insiders Program has been incredibly valuable,” says Amplitude CEO Romain de Waubert de Genlis. “Taking this extra time means we can keep refining the game to ensure we’re delivering the best possible experience to players on September 22.”
Even though the full game release is delayed, a demo will be available in early August, coinciding with the original launch date. This demo will allow players to experience aspects of the game while awaiting the final release. Since it has been a decade since the initial Endless Legend, the prevailing sentiment is forgiveness for the delay if it ensures a more polished final product.
The changes being implemented aim to not only enhance gameplay but also to introduce elements that help weave storytelling into the mechanics, reflecting Amplitude’s commitment to innovation in game design.
