Significant Update to Storm Mechanics in Fortnite OG Mode

Fortnite's OG mode introduces a major alteration to storm timings, enhancing gameplay speed for nostalgia-driven players.

Fortnite has recently made a major change to storm timings in its OG mode, reducing initial wait times for the first circles. The OG mode, a nostalgia-based experience, allows players to revisit past seasons of the game.

The latest season commenced on June 7, featuring the iconic character, The Visitor, from Chapter 1, Season 4. Two classic points of interest, Dusty Divot and Risky Reels, have returned, along with nostalgic items like jetpacks and dual pistols.

In a communication via Twitter, notable Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey disclosed that players will now have to wait 50 seconds for the first storm to start to shrink, with subsequent storms taking 40, 45, and 40 seconds respectively. Previously, the wait times were significantly longer at 90, 60, 75, and 60 seconds.

Positive feedback has been noted in response to this tweet, with players expressing desire for further adjustments. The storm is a unique element of the gameplay, gradually limiting players’ hiding spaces as the match progresses.

The fourth season will conclude on August 7, but before that, players can expect a key event, Blast Off, on July 26, which will revive the memorable rocket launch event that initiated a series of pivotal changes in the game.
