Treacherous Helldivers 2 Players Exploit Super Earth Flag to Sabotage Gameplay
Players are using the One True Flag weapon in Helldivers 2 to crash games, targeting others while remaining unaffected themselves.
A recent update for the One True Flag in Helldivers 2 brought about a fun new mechanic, but it has backfired spectacularly for players.
The new melee weapon allows players to plant the flag into any enemy, dead or alive, effectively declaring absolute democracy in the game. However, players have discovered that using this feature can crash opponents’ games while leaving the flag wielder unaffected. Reddit user Sad-Needleworker-5990 warns, “WARNING: planting a flag will crash everyone’s game (except for you)” from r/Helldivers
This has turned the flag into a meme weapon rather than a viable combat option, as it takes up the crucial support weapon slot but is ineffective compared to more powerful options available.
The Helldivers community is amused yet concerned about the potential for crashing matches strategically. As one player noted, “Now I can say ‘THY END IS NOW’ and strike the flag, crashing everyone’s games and peacefully playing alone.”
In response, Arrowhead, the developers, have acknowledged the glitch and are working on a fix, urging players not to use the flag for the time being. They stated, “We are aware of issues surrounding the One True Flag and are investigating a fix, and will post an update as soon as possible.”
