New Mod for Elden Ring Nightreign Introduces Randomization

Elden Ring Nightreign receives a mod that allows players to randomize their gameplay experience, enhancing the excitement for seasoned gamers.

A new Elden Ring Nightreign mod allows gamers to randomize their runs in various ways. This mod is perfect for experienced players seeking more diversity during their gameplay experiences.

Released on May 30, 2025, Elden Ring Nightreign takes a multiplayer roguelike approach to FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, emphasizing cooperative mechanics. Shortly after its launch, it became a blockbuster, selling over 3.5 million copies in under a week. Since its release, modders have developed various interesting projects that alter the game in unique ways.

A modder known as thefifthmatt has launched the ‘Nightreign Randomizer and Derandomizer’ for download via Nexus Mods. According to the creator, the mod provides three option presets for randomizing runs. One mimics the standard Elden Ring Nightreign, another introduces randomization to item rewards and other features, while a third offers an ’extra random’ setting. Players may not notice extensive changes right away since the core game already includes some procedural generation; variations in Night Bosses may be the most visible difference initially. Future enhancements are planned for deeper customization of placement. The mod also features a ‘derandomizer’ tool for those wanting a more predictable experience.

Interestingly, this new mod is compatible with the widely-used ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod, which enables two-player co-op gameplay in Elden Ring Nightreign. Despite the limited range of mods currently available for Elden Ring Nightreign, the community has identified some intriguing ones aimed at enriching the gaming experience. For example, one mod facilitates easier solo play by adjusting player scaling. Many players found solo runs arduous at launch, although FromSoftware has made adjustments; this mod remains advantageous in that context.

Hopefully, FromSoftware will continue adding features to Elden Ring Nightreign. Notably, one exciting addition post-launch was the Everdark Sovereigns, formidable variants of the game’s Nightlords, representing the toughest foes throughout the experience. Teams can engage with different Everdark Sovereigns weekly, currently facing Gaping Jaw and Darkdrift Knight, with Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight becoming available from July 17 to 24.
