Game Rant can exclusively unveil a new look at Old Noakes from Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game. This sneak peek arrives just weeks ahead of its release on July 29, 2025.
Developed by Weta Gameshop in New Zealand, Tales of the Shire offers a life simulation experience, bringing the cozy life of hobbits in the Shire to players. Initially announced in September 2023, the game has faced multiple delays.
In the latest gameplay footage shared by the publisher Fictions, previously known as Private Division, focus has been placed on Old Noakes, a resident of Bywater known for his fishing expertise. The upcoming game highlights an intricate fishing mini-game, allowing players to catch various fish species throughout Hobbiton and Bywater.
Through gameplay mechanics, players will learn how Old Noakes provides insights on fishing while also working to build relations by sharing meals with other hobbits. The game plans to launch simultaneously on multiple platforms, marking its significance in the gaming timeline as the first non-mobile LOTR entry since The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria released in October 2023.
