GOG is showing support for the classic RPG, Neverwinter Nights 2, by including it in its preservation program, just ahead of the debut of its enhanced edition this week. The original owners on GOG are eligible for a 15% loyalty discount, stacking with the 10% preorder discount.
The preservation program is GOG’s commitment to ensure older games run smoothly on current Windows versions. Recently, Neverwinter Nights 2 received its first update since 2015, resolving a long-standing black screen issue.
This loyalty discount is a kind gesture from GOG, especially since the NwN2 Enhanced Edition has already been verified for the Steam Deck. While GOG remains a great option, gamers may find Steam’s platform easier to navigate for running NwN2 on the handheld console.
The upcoming remaster includes four massive RPG campaigns available for $30. Although the modding community around NwN2 is less extensive compared to its predecessor, there are still notable campaigns like The Maimed God’s Saga worth exploring. The enhanced edition will launch on July 15 across both Steam and GOG, coinciding with the end of the preorder discount.
