Donkey Kong Bananza is the franchise’s first venture into 3D platforming since Donkey Kong 64. In this upcoming title, players will join Donkey Kong and Pauline in a vast, underground world as they battle VoidCo and collect the mystical Banandium Gems. The game is notable for being among the first major releases for the Switch 2 and is being helmed by directors Kazuya Takahashi and Kenta Motokura, the latter having previously directed Super Mario Odyssey.

With rumors surrounding the game’s features—including options for two-player co-op and artist mode—players who manage to obtain a physical copy will have to refrain from playing until the official release to comply with Nintendo’s strict anti-piracy measures.
