Steam Offers Free Co-Op Zombie Game to Players

Steam is currently providing the cooperative zombie game 'Ultimate Zombie Defense' for free, allowing gamers to keep it permanently after adding it to their library.

Players interested in cooperative horror titles can grab Ultimate Zombie Defense for free on Steam only for a limited period. As soon as the game is added to a player’s library, they can enjoy it permanently without any charges, making it a must-have for enthusiasts of the genre.

Zombie-themed games have been experiencing a resurgence lately, highlighted by not only the celebrated Resident Evil series but also new entries like Dead Island 2 released in 2023 and the Dead Rising remaster that surfaced in 2024. Additionally, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has seen the return of its much-loved Zombies mode. With more exciting titles in the works, fans can take advantage of this free offering right now.

Ultimate Zombie Defense originally debuted in 2020 as a four-player online game utilizing a top-down view. Players navigate a city dealing with a zombie crisis while taking on the roles of military elites tasked with neutralizing the root of the outbreak. The game has received positive feedback on Steam. Users have until July 15 at 10 AM to claim it for free.

What Makes Ultimate Zombie Defense Unique?

While many zombie games saturate the market, Ultimate Zombie Defense distinguishes itself through unique features, including eight distinct characters with a progression system that enables players to enhance their abilities through the gameplay. It boasts 12 different monster types beyond the standard zombies, and spectacular kills are showcased in slow-motion, reminiscent of titles like Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Adding to its appeal, players can engage in base building to personalize their gaming experience.

For gamers with less powerful PCs, the recommended specifications are fairly relaxed, only requiring an Nvidia GTX 1050 or better and 4GB RAM. It is important to note that the game is listed as “Playable” on Steam Deck, so it may perform better on standard desktop setups.
