New Insights into Helldivers 2's Upcoming Control Group Warbond DLC

Explore the new features and content introduced in Helldivers 2's Control Group Warbond expansion, set to launch soon.

Publisher Sony and developer Arrowhead Game Studios have unveiled the exciting new Control Group Warbond DLC for the popular cooperative shooter Helldivers 2. This DLC is set to enhance the arsenal and tactical options available to players through various Warbond packs, which will typically introduce new armor, cosmetics, weapons, and gadgets for players to utilize during missions.

The announcement comes on the heels of the exciting news that Helldivers 2 is set to make its debut on Xbox in August 2025, stirring renewed interest in the game. Many veteran players are returning to the battlefield, while newcomers who previously thought the game was a PlayStation exclusive are eagerly awaiting updates ahead of the Xbox launch. Arrowhead is also continuously enriching the game with free content updates and regular Warbond DLC releases.

Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond Content

  • AD-49 Apollonian Heavy Armor
  • AD-26 Bleeding Edge Medium Armor
  • Adreno-Defibrillator Armor Passive
  • VG-70 Variable Primary Weapon

One of the standout features of the Control Group Warbond DLC is the introduction of a brand new travel method. The LIFT-182 Warp Pack, a backpack-based stratagem, allows players to teleport short distances, offering a tactical edge to evade damage or escape overwhelming situations. However, its instability grows with each use, heightening the risk of failure.

Other new additions include the PLAS-45 Epoch, a powerful plasma cannon, and the VG-70 Variable primary weapon capable of firing in various modes. Additionally, a new sentry-equipped weapon will utilize a laser beam that requires no reloading.

Overall, the reception toward the upcoming Control Group Warbond has been largely favorable, with players anticipating the enhanced mechanics brought by the Epoch. Some have expressed concern that the new armor sets may prove overly powerful due to their unique abilities. Regardless, excitement is building for the arrival of this latest DLC.
