Escape From Tarkov has just undergone a significant wipe, but not everyone is pleased. The new Hardcore Wipe has ruffled feathers in the community, with users expressing strong displeasure over the drastic changes.
This latest update significantly reduces the available content by restricting gameplay to only two maps, along with limiting features like ammo crafting and making insurance costs exorbitantly high, all in an effort to slow down player progression.
Despite suggestions from developer Battlestate Games to prepare the community, players felt blindsided by this sweeping update. They quickly expressed dissatisfaction, dubbing the wipe an unnecessary disruption to the game’s balance.
User Feedback: Community reactions range from frustration about lost quests to the impracticality of traversal between maps. Reddit user SakeMadaMada noted a long waiting time for gameplay action, citing: “I tried going to Reserve. This was the experience: Queue was 10 minutes for Customs, five-minute run to transit, 22-minute queue for Reserve just to trade headshots with another player two minutes in.”
More complaints cite the reduced number of quests as a significant drawback to progression.
In light of these issues, Battlestate Games and its head, Nikita Buyanov, have acknowledged the backlash and are reportedly monitoring player feedback, hinting that adjustments may occur in future updates.
