Players of Dune: Awakening to Receive Refunds After Mishaps in the Deep Desert
Funcom will reimburse players of Dune: Awakening following a patch that caused the loss of equipment and vehicles.
Funcom is initiating reimbursements for players of Dune: Awakening who recently experienced the loss of vehicles, equipment, and bases due to a patch. The developers are addressing this alongside issues with game cheaters.
Dune: Awakening was launched in June 2025, with plans for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X ports in 2026. The survival game unfolds in an alternate timeline on Arrakis, free from the character Paul Atreides of Frank Herbert’s novels. Players can engage in political maneuvers, gather resources, construct shelters, and confront the iconic sandworms while navigating the harsh desert landscape.
Recently, the game received an update aimed at fixing a resource duplication bug, boosting the spawn rate of sandworms near recently collected spice fields, and introducing new weapon schematics into Asmara Efendi’s store. The game will also offer extensive post-launch content, including free updates, optional paid DLCs, and enhancements.
Funcom has acknowledged the unfortunate situation regarding players losing equipment and bases in the Deep Desert, particularly as the endgame territory switched from PvE to PvP temporarily. They confirmed they are working to retract the lost items via the in-game ‘Claim Rewards’ feature by the end of the week.
The developers are also committed to developing solutions to address vehicle losses caused by in-game bugs, and the ongoing effort will focus on eliminating identified cheats.
Additionally, the update ensures improvements in the gameplay experience, responding to community feedback to enhance player satisfaction as they continue their journey on Arrakis.
