Nintendo Switch 2 Faces Price Hike in Saudi Arabia

The Nintendo Switch 2 console's price is set to increase in Saudi Arabia, marking the first price hike since its release.

The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 console is set to rise in Saudi Arabia, with this being the first instance of an increase since its launch a little over a month ago.

Demand for the Switch 2 has significantly exceeded supply, leading to shortages at several retail locations. While the console has started to restock at some retailers, this price hike might cause concern for fans who have yet to secure one.

The distributor, AIC, announced that the price for the Switch 2 will be elevated starting July 8. The base model will increase from 1,999 Saudi Riyals (SAR) to 2,149 SAR (about $573.06 USD at current exchange rates), marking a 7.5% rise. Even the Mario Kart World bundle will see a price jump to 2,349 SAR, approximately $626 USD. However, there are currently no indications that prices for games, accessories, or related products will be affected.

“At the moment, distributor AIC has only said that the reason for the price change is due to global market conditions shifting.”

This news leads to speculation regarding potential price adjustments in other regions, particularly as Nintendo President Furukawa hinted at possible increases due to tariffs in the US following the console’s full reveal. Gamers are encouraged to purchase the Switch 2 soon, as ongoing supply challenges are anticipated until early 2026.
