Leaked Features Hint at Possible Remake for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
Ubisoft's recent updates to the Steam page for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag suggest a potential remake, adding features not in the original game.
Recently, gamers have noticed that Ubisoft has introduced new features on the Steam page for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, indicating that a rumored remake might be approaching reality. Although Ubisoft has yet to confirm the remake, evidence supporting its development continues to appear online.
Originally launched in 2013, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag saw remarkable success with over 15 million copies sold. Reports in 2023 suggested that a remake was greenlit by Ubisoft, but official confirmation is still pending.
Ubisoft’s recent changes include features such as custom volume controls, options for stereo sound, and the ability to save at any time, which are not available in the original game. This update raises speculation that these features may eventually be integrated into a forthcoming remake.

Since the initial rumors emerged, gamers have uncovered further evidence of the potential remake. For example, back in June, Ubisoft refreshed the game’s trailers on its Steam storefront. Moreover, Matt Ryan, the voice actor for Edward Kenway, hinted at a possible remake during a recent convention, suggesting that fans would need to replay AC4. While the frequency of updates might imply an imminent announcement, the exact timing remains uncertain. Previous reports indicated that the remake might debut as early as November 2025, but with changes in other titles, it might now arrive in 2026. With Ubisoft confirming attendance at events like Gamescom 2025, the official reveal could transpire then or during major events such as The Game Awards 2025.
