Vintage Story Hires Former Hytale Developers for New Adventure Mode
Anego Studios is launching a new 'Adventure Mode' in Vintage Story, drawing on expertise from former developers of the cancelled Hytale game.
Anego Studios is set to introduce a new ‘Adventure Mode’ for Vintage Story by enlisting former developers from the now-cancelled Hytale project.
The studio plans to start with a small team and gradually expand the project as it gains traction in the community. According to Tyron, the initiative reflects a commitment to develop a mode that captures the essence originally envisioned for Hytale.
“We’ve carefully thought about our options, budget and potential risks… A small team might be slower, but is also much more manageable…”

Additionally, the new Adventure Mode will prioritize fantasy themes over the realism of the current Vintage Story experience, with initial deployment planned as part of the main game at no extra cost, potentially evolving into a standalone title based on its success.
The moves come in the wake of Hytale’s cancellation by Riot Games after more than seven years in development, a decision that shocked the gaming community, but also opened doors for Vintage Story’s creative iteration.
