At Least Two More EA Games Scheduled for Shutdown This Year

EA is shutting down two more games, with fans facing significant disappointment as closures approach.

In 2025, fans need to be aware of at least two EA games that are set to close down soon. Regularly, EA shuts down various games, and this year has already seen multiple titles discontinued, especially with nine games closing their doors back in January.

The closures began with Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, seven mobile games, and The Simpsons: Tapped Out. The latter’s shutdown was particularly disheartening for its loyal player base. Following this trend, February saw UFC 3 going offline, with EA Sports UFC Mobile 2 and NCAA 14 following suit in March.

Madden NFL 22 will discontinue service on October 20, and FIFA 23 will cease operations on December 12. Players will still have access to offline modes, but many of the game’s features will be lost.

List of EA Games Shutting Down in 2025

  • Rory McIlroy PGA Tour - January 16
  • The Simpsons: Tapped Out - January 24
  • UFC 3 - February 17
  • EA Sports UFC Mobile 2 - March 13
  • NCAA 14 - March 13
  • Madden NFL 21 - June 30
  • Madden NFL 22 - October 20
  • FIFA 23 - December 12
The closure of FIFA 23 signifies the end of the franchise under its traditional branding, as EA’s soccer games transition to EA Sports FC. There are also hints of additional game shutdowns before the year concludes.
