Griefers Target Beginner Zone in Dune: Awakening

New players in Dune: Awakening are facing challenges as griefers exploit game mechanics in a beginner-friendly area.

The situation in Dune: Awakening is growing tense as new players must be wary in the Hagga Basin beginner zone. Recently, aggressive players have begun exploiting game mechanics, targeting newcomers who are unprepared for the challenges awaiting them.

Following the developers’ announcement of a substantial increase to the PVE area, many seasoned players have moved to the Hagga Basin region, where they are using a technique that allows them to circumvent the PvP restrictions fixed in the game. A player on Reddit expressed concern about the dilemma, saying, “Griefers are now descending upon Hagga to exploit spice farms, employing their tactics from prior zones to continue their activities here. The game faces significant challenges moving forward.”

The player explained how these griefers are engaging in a dangerous tactic involving a thumper device to summon lethal sandworms to eliminate other players, resulting in confusion, especially for those playing solo. Potential threats include the likelihood of sandworm attacks on unsuspecting players, turning a safe haven into a battleground.

The community remains divided on the developers’ responses to the growing toxicity, with some players expressing frustration with the lack of adequate measures to protect players. Despite its popularity, with more than 1 million players onboard, concerns about in-game harassment and gameplay imbalance remain at the forefront.
