NASCAR Heat Online Play to End
NASCAR Heat fans will soon see the closure of online servers for their games, set to take place on August 1, 2025. While the closure has been anticipated, many players are still frustrated by the loss of online multiplayer.
The announcement came in late December 2024, which indicated that the NASCAR Heat series would be removed from platforms by year’s end. This change affects not only the NASCAR Heat titles but also includes games like NASCAR Rivals and NASCAR 21: Ignition.
Despite NASCAR Heat 4 and 5 no longer being available for purchase, players can still enjoy these titles offline and in split-screen mode. This is a relief as some games lose all accessibility when servers are shut down, but it’s evident that fans would prefer to retain online functionality until the debut of NASCAR 25, anticipated for the fall of 2025.
Moreover, the rights to publish NASCAR games have shifted to iRacing, prompting the discontinuation of the NASCAR Heat series. The shutdown fits into a larger trend where numerous online games, including several from EA, are transitioning to offline play only.
This situation has sparked significant conversations in the gaming community regarding the future of online games and the demand for developers to maintain support for older titles.
