RoadCraft: The Exciting New Frontier in Off-Road Gameplay
Discover the latest features of RoadCraft, the follow-up to Snowrunner, promising innovative roadbuilding and logistics automation.
The cleanup begins on May 20.
When I saw the latest trailer for RoadCraft, Saber Interactive’s follow-up to Expeditions: Mudrunner, my interest was piqued by the unique concept of a ‘mobile quarry’. Unlike traditional quarries, which are stationary, RoadCraft allows players to transport and process minerals while on the move.
The game emphasizes not only navigating treacherous landscapes but also actively modifying it to ease travel. Players can clear obstacles, fell trees, and construct their roads using resources directly from the environment. A new physics engine introduces granular material simulation, promising an engaging and dynamic gameplay experience.
Furthermore, the game features an intricate resource management system and elements reminiscent of Factorio, allowing players to recycle debris from disaster areas into new building materials for infrastructure.
What really caught my attention were the unconventional vehicles featured, including the ‘cable-layer’ and a mobile crane resembling those found in space exploration.
Mark your calendars for May 20, the launch date for RoadCraft. It promises to deliver a nostalgic gaming experience intertwined with modern challenges.
