Significant Updates to Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate

Bungie announces major changes and buffs to various underperforming exotic weapons as the release of Destiny 2's The Edge of Fate draws near.

As part of its weekly blog update, Bungie has unveiled substantial changes to Destiny 2 weapons, focusing on revamping several exotic weapons that have not seen much use. With the upcoming launch of The Edge of Fate, Bungie is eager to keep fans in the loop through various live streams and detailed blog entries.

Bungie is increasing its outreach by offering a series of livestreams and showcasing key tweaks to improve the core gameplay experience. Fans got a sneak peek at Destiny 2’s novel Dark Matter abilities, designed to vitalize player movement and broaden combat options. This week’s news drops heavy on weapon evolution as the expansion draws near.

Inside its recent blog post, Bungie illuminated the weapon adjustments slated for The Edge of Fate, including enhanced reload mechanics for machine guns and a reduction in projectile tracking on glaives. Notably, several neglected exotics such as The Navigator and Dead Man’s Tale are set to receive substantial buffs. For instance, the adjustments to Tommy’s Matchbook will reduce player damage intake and extend the activation time for its special feature.

Furthermore, the most impactful modification concerns the Hierarchy of Needs combat bow discovered within the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon. Players will now generate Guidance Ring charges with each hit, thus enhancing flexibility and allowing allies to benefit from the ring’s boosts as well.

Additional updates confirm that certain weapons will inherently acquire the ability to stun various champion enemies within Destiny 2, elevating gameplay dynamics against these formidable foes. Weapons such as Queenbreaker and Dragon’s Breath will now tackle Unstoppable enemies, while Tractor Cannon and Two-Tailed Fox can stymie Overload champions.

Hierarchy of Needs will gain more functionality. Players will receive Guidance Ring charges with every shot, and the ring’s duration has been boosted. Key features of the setup have also changed regarding ally interactions with bows.

Dead Man’s Tale has received a reputation in PvP, but with enhanced adjustments, its usage in PvE is expected to rise as well.

Following the recent updates, each of these exotic weapons will become significantly more engaging and versatile for players.
