
Capcom's Financial Report Highlights Steam as a Major Revenue Source
Capcom's latest financial report reveals that sales from Steam now contribute significantly to the company's overall revenue, showcasing the success of the publisher's strategy.
Capcom recently released its financial results for the period from April 2024 to March 2025, indicating a substantial increase in revenue from Steam sales. The total sales from Steam reached 52.723 billion yen (approximately $363 million), marking a 61.1% growth compared to the previous year. This surge now constitutes about 31.3% of Capcom’s overall sales, up from 21.5% in the prior fiscal year.
The growth is even more pronounced in Capcom’s digital content sector, where Steam accounts for 42.1% of the sales, highlighting a significant shift in consumer engagement towards digital purchases.
Additionally, Capcom reported a total of 28.2 million PC sales during this fiscal year, showing a 30% increase from last year. The financial report notably recognizes the success of Monster Hunter: Wilds, which has had remarkable sales across all platforms. To date, the series has surpassed 100 million copies sold.
As noted in the report, other significant titles such as various Resident Evil games and Street Fighter 6 contributed notably to this success.
