New Zero-Day Exploit Found in Chrome Actively Targeted by Hackers

A serious flaw in Chrome has been discovered, prompting an immediate update from Google.

In a recent update from Google, a zero-day vulnerability in Chrome has been reported, identified as CVE-2025-6554. This flaw is a type confusion error within the V8 JavaScript engine and has already been exploited in the wild to allow hackers to execute arbitrary code by simply visiting a malicious website.

If you’re using versions older than 138.0.7204.96, be advised that your device is at risk. The vulnerability was flagged to Google by Clément Lecigne from their Threat Analysis Group on June 25, 2025, speeding up an update to mitigate the issue within a week.

This issue highlights the essential need for users to keep their browsers up to date to safeguard against potential exploits.
