Final Fantasy 14 Expedites Highly Anticipated Fix, Arriving a Month Ahead of Schedule

The eagerly awaited changes to the Forked Tower dungeon in Final Fantasy 14 are set to be implemented sooner than expected.

The Occult Crescent, Final Fantasy 14’s new operational mode, introduces some exciting updates. Currently, players face challenges when trying to tackle the 48-player dungeon Forked Tower, as the game restricts entry to groups of eight, resulting in what’s humorously called ‘instance gacha’. Fortunately, Naoki Yoshida recently announced during a livestream that these issues will be addressed in Patch 7.3, which was initially expected to roll out in about six weeks.

However, in a surprising turn of events, players will now see two key fixes implemented as early as July 3:

  1. Entering the Occult Crescent instance with up to 48 players in a preformed alliance.
  2. Reducing the wait time for weather effects, likely shortening the current 20-30 minutes delay for Forked Tower to spawn.

These early changes should help alleviate some frustration among players, fostering a more engaging experience in the game.

With these adjustments, the hope is that interest and participation in the Forked Tower will remain strong as more players are able to enjoy the content together.
