The critically acclaimed remaster of System Shock 2 will arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on July 10. Titled System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, it achieved a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
Initially scheduled for release on June 26, the developer delayed the console launch due to technical difficulties.
The remaster is developed by Nightdive Studios, recognized for enhancing classics like Doom and Quake 2. On July 10, it will also be available for Nintendo Switch alongside PlayStation 4, 5, and Xbox Series X/S at a speculated price of $30. This launch is particularly exciting as it includes cross-play multiplayer, a feature missing from the original release.
