New Balance Changes Released for Apex Legends

Apex Legends' latest update introduces weapon balance changes and quality-of-life improvements to enhance gameplay.

Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a new update for Apex Legends, making adjustments to several weapons in the battle royale game. Following the major midseason update for Season 25, which included extensive changes to characters and weapon dynamics, developers are now focused on further refining the gameplay balance through more subtle patches.

Despite a decline in popularity compared to its initial release, Apex Legends continues to maintain a robust player base, with daily player counts exceeding 100,000 on Steam. The fast-paced nature of the game keeps fans engaged, and Respawn consistently adds new content to hold player interest, with recent changes likely to influence the weapon dynamics significantly.

Patch Details

The latest update introduces balance changes to the Devotion LMG and EVA-8 shotgun:

  • Devotion LMG:

    • Removed improved scaling from high-tier barrels and stocks.
    • Magazine size reduced from 52 to 48 bullets.
  • EVA-8 Shotgun:

    • Damage per pellet increased from 6 to 7.
    • Rate of fire has been decreased.
    • Purple and Gold bolts now align with other shotguns in the game.

Additionally, quality-of-life improvements have been made to the Arenas: Duels mode, with player highlights now visible only during countdowns, and a faster pace achieved through updated mode timings and duel transitions.

Conclusion

Players are keen to see how these changes affect gameplay in the near future. Some users welcomed the nerf to the Devotion, while others argue that additional adjustments may still be necessary, especially since it underwent a substantial rework at the beginning of Season 25. Only time will tell how these alterations play out as the season develops.
