Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for July 2025, showcasing seven games set to join the subscription service within the next two weeks. Microsoft routinely emphasizes the upcoming Xbox Game Pass titles, providing fans with timely updates about new additions to the service every few weeks.
In the past, the process of adding new games to Xbox Game Pass was relatively straightforward. However, the introduction of multiple tiers within the service has added a layer of complexity. The original Game Pass is now referred to as Xbox Game Pass Standard and seldom includes day-one titles. Conversely, Xbox Game Pass Core features a limited selection of games but retains benefits linked to Xbox Live Gold, such as online multiplayer capabilities. Meanwhile, PC Game Pass is dedicated to PC users, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate encompasses all the benefits from the previous tiers along with exclusive perks.

High on Life was initially a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass but was later removed from the service. It has recently been confirmed that High on Life 2 will also launch as a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass, making it sensible for the original game to return so that subscribers who missed it can experience it ahead of the sequel. Additionally, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will debut on July 24, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access to Grounded 2 via the Game Preview program on July 29.
