Anecdotally, these graphics cards were observed to sell out within minutes on retail platforms. Newegg mentioned that the cards vanished in less than five minutes in their initial stock.

According to a press release provided to multiple media outlets, yesterday’s launch showed overwhelming demand without specific data on how initial inventory compared to earlier Nvidia launches. They reported that while total stock sold out in approximately 20 minutes, a significant portion was claimed within a mere five minutes.

Newegg mentioned experiencing an 8-10x increase in site traffic around the launch period, confirming that a considerable number of customers desired to acquire the new RTX 50-series cards. Notably, the RTX 5080 appeared more in demand due to its lower price point than the RTX 5090, making it more appealing to a broader audience.

“The response to the NVIDIA RTX 50 Series has been extraordinary,” said Jim Tseng, Newegg VP of product management. “The overwhelming demand reaffirms the gaming and PC community’s enthusiasm for the very best technology. For our customers who have not yet been able to secure a GPU, we’re committed to working with NVIDIA and our AIB (Add-In Board) partners to ensure future restocks and continued availability.”
