New Class System Unveiled in Once Human

Starry Studio introduces an innovative class system in its game Once Human, along with three new classes, as players eagerly await the anniversary update.

Once Human developer Starry Studio, part of NetEase, has officially unveiled a new class system alongside three introductory classes as fans anticipate the Wonder Dawn 2.0 anniversary update. The game was initially launched as a free-to-play post-apocalyptic survival experience in 2024, set against the backdrop of the Starfall event, which transformed humans into Deviations.

Recently, the game integrated a significant feature aimed at enhancing replayability. Starry Studio is gearing up for the Global Annual Version 2.0 Showcase on July 2, 2025, where they plan to present an updated roadmap, new scenarios, and details about the PvP offshoot, Once Human: Raidzone. Before the July update, there’s one more thrilling addition for fans to anticipate.

This revelation was first highlighted by a Reddit user who spotted screenshots on the Once Human official subreddit, illustrating the upcoming classes: Chef, Gardener, and Beastmaster. Unlike conventional MMO frameworks, this class system is designed to offer specialized roles that propel progression, deviating from static archetypes.

Players can expect public testing of these classes once the update goes live on July 3. Amid excitement regarding this enhancement, players have also shared their feelings on cosmetic pricing, with many expressing enthusiasm for the new classes. One fan even requested the addition of an Engineer class, while another clarified that the new system is meant to replace Memetic Specializations and provide flexibility.
