Voice Actor Wes Johnson Thanks Supporters After Awakening from Coma Following Health Crisis

Wes Johnson, renowned for his vocal contributions in Bethesda games, expresses deep gratitude to his supporters after overcoming a life-threatening health scare.

Wes Johnson, the voice behind many iconic characters in Bethesda RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, recently addressed his fans as he recovers from a life-threatening incident. He was found unconscious in his hotel room just before he was scheduled to host a charity event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation. After not showing up, his wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel where he was staying, leading to security discovering him unconscious.

Johnson was subsequently placed in a medically induced coma. In a moving video shared on his GoFundMe page, he expressed, “Rumors of my demise. Well, they weren’t exaggerated. It was very close. Very close… but I’m still here. I’m here because my wife called the hotel and had my son notify security. They found me nearly dead and got me to the hospital.”

His GoFundMe, initiated by his family and friends—Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker—has successfully raised over $175,413. Johnson stated, “I found out there’s a lot of love in this world that I didn’t know was out there. And I’m grateful to each and every one of you.” He also expressed thanks to the National Alzheimer’s Association, which aided his family in getting to Atlanta, and to Ted Leonsis, who donated $25,000 to the fund.

Johnson concluded his message with heartfelt words: “I love you all. And I’m not going anywhere… I’m coming back. I look forward to seeing you very soon.”

Johnson’s extensive acting career has seen him in various roles across television shows, including Veep and The Wire, but he remains widely recognized in the gaming community for his remarkable voice work in Bethesda games. Donations to assist Johnson can still be made through his GoFundMe.
